MICROGREENS

THE PROCESS

We take our microgreens seriously here at Sleepy Bee Farm. So join us as we take a look at the process and see how we go from Tray to Table.

TRAY TO TABLE

  • RETAIL

There is nothing more important to us than ensuring our products are as fresh as possible when you take them home. Because of this, we package our microgreens in resealable bags for our WIG customers and our stand at Bayview Farmer’s Market in order to keep our fresh-cut microgreens fresh, for longer.

We take pride in the quality of our greens and we hope you enjoy them just as much as we do!

  • WHOLESALE

Are you a restaurant or a grocery store looking to sell our Microgreens?

We sell our bulk microgreens wholesale through Whidbey Island Grown. For a complete list of our products, reach out to us via our contact page. We offer a variety of tray discounts not listed online.

  • TAKE HOME TRAYS

Did you love our Fresh-Cut Microgreens at market last year? Well, we made it even better! This year, we’re offering Take-Home Trays. Stop by and grab a single tray, or several, and keep them in the kitchen ready to cut fresh for every meal. Bring the trays back the following week for a slight discount on your next one. These trays are available at our Honor Stand* and Bayview Farmer’s Market on a weekly basis.

    *Summer months only

QUESTIONS

  • Unfortunately, no. But, don’t worry! Instead of cutting them fresh, we are selling mini trays that you can take home and cut fresh when you need them. Bring the trays back to us when you’re done so we can reuse it for the next time!

  • We cut them fresh the morning they are delivered! So, if you order through the food hub (WIG), we cut those Microgreens on Thursday morning. If you are buying them at Bayview Farmer’s Market, they are cut fresh that morning!

  • We find that the resealable bags we use cut back on the waste of clamshells, save space in your refrigerator, and tend to stay fresh longer.

Don’t like waste? Get a couple of our mini trays Saturdays at Bayview Farmer’s Market instead and cut them fresh yourself! Bring the trays back each week for us to reuse and replant.

  • Yes! We frequently test different seeds out to see if they are compatible with our grow schedule and growing conditions. If you are looking for a specific type of Microgreen or Shoot, reach out to us. We may be able to grow a small tray for you on a recurring basis.

  • Yes! We offer many options, including full trays, bulk, or retail bags, so reach out via our contact form or email.

  • Like all of our vegetables, they are grown from Organic Certified Seed and Soil. While our farm is not certified organic, we are growing using the same methods they require or better!
